A BLACK LACQUER AND IVORY-INLAID RECTANGULAR BOX AND COVER
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The cover is inlaid in ivory with a lively scene of boys playing in a garden, to one side a seal and three-character inscription reading biyu zhai that may be translated as "Spinach jade Hall". The sides are decorated with prunus blossom and applied with metal handles.
