A SMALL WHITE JADE SEAL
18TH CENTURY
The seal is carved in the form of a pebble with two small apertures to the top. The seal face is carved with two characters in seal script reading xi hua. The stone is of an even pale tone.

Probably acquired in China in the late 19th century by D. Jose de Carranza y Echevarra, Vicealmirante de la Armada Espanola; then by descent to Ramon de Carranza y Fernandez de la Reguera, Marques de Sotohermoso, (Cadiz); thence by descent to the present owners.
