A FAMILLE ROSE 'BOYS' VASE
REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-1949)
The vase is decorated with two panels, one enclosing four boys and a lady in a fenced garden and the other with five boys at play, the children each holding a musical instrument, banner, ruyi sceptre or pomegranate. The panels are reserved on a dense floral ground. The neck is applied with a pair of animal-mask and ring handles. There is an apocryphal Qianlong mark on the base.
