TWO POLYCHROME-PAINTED WOOD FIGURES OF MANJUSRI AND SAMANTABHADRA
16TH-17TH CENTURY
One figure is shown seated on a lotus throne on top of a Buddhist lion and the other is seated on top of an elephant. Both are holding an attribute and are dressed in flowing robes, necklaces and a crown. Traces of polychrome pigment and gilt are visible.
