A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A BIRD
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The bird is carved with its head looking ahead and the slender feet perched under the body. The wings held close to the body are incised with feathers and the outstretched tail is carved with a loop on the underside. The stone is of pale celadon tone with russet markings.
3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm.) long, fitted as a finial on a walking stick
