JIAJING SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1522-1566)
The bell-shaped bowl is finely painted on the exterior with a continuous scene depicting an immortal within a pavilion while approached by his attendant carrying a qin, enveloped by billowing clouds against rocky outcrops rising out of cresting waves, all below a band of demi-florettes at the mouth rim. The centre of the interior is painted with a double-line roundel enclosing flower heads floating on waves.
