Originally a doll maker, Naomi Laight transferred to bears before the bear scene happened in the UK and gave so much inspiration to other artists to follow. In the days before Bear Fairs, collectors will remember her stall at doll fairs where people were knee deep trying to by one of her creations. her designs and use of unusual materials give her bears that consistent timeless quality that collectors look for and will mark her out for a special place in bear collecting history. Amongst many other commissions, she created for Dean's a bear for their artist series. For the auction she has made Britannia Jack, a magnificient large bear wearing a brilliantly feather stitched felt outfit in patriotic colours of red, white and blue.
