The 5130 was launched in 2006 and replaced the 5110 with a case that was 2mm larger than its predecessor. Special editions were made for Mecca, Dubai, Shanghai, and Istanbul showing various respective cities on the dial and different color dials. This lot represents the first time this mesmerizing set of Ref. 5130s has appeared at auction. Possibly but not confirmed as unique, this set was made for the Middle Eastern market in 2012 by special request. Each watch features a unique reference number indicating the color of stones used on each timepiece. The set contains a white gold world time with 44 sapphires (3.18 carats), a rose gold world time with 44 rubies (3.18 carats), a platinum with 44 diamonds (3.13 carats), and finally a second platinum example with 44 emeralds (2.22 carats). Each platinum watch also features a single .017 carat diamond set between the lugs.
