D’après Schultze-Westrum (2015), les planches votives appelées titi ébiha par les Kerewa servaient lors de la danse cérémonielle gibumamu, liée à l’initiation et à la préparation de la chasse aux têtes. Voir Webb, V.-L., Esprits incarnés, Planches votives du golfe de Papouasie, Milan, 2015, pl.129 pour une planche votive comparable collectée par Thomas Schultze-Westrum entre 1966 et 1968, aujourd’hui conservée dans la Collection Tomkins (TC511).
