The vase is enamelled in bright tones with taotie masks, and a band of upright cicada blades at the corners of the trumpet mouth enclosing chilong motifs. The mouth is decorated with a pair of confronting phoenix on both the exterior and interior. The exterior is entirely applied with vertical notched flanges.
