Third printing. INSCRIBED TO RONALD REAGAN: “To Ronald Reagan, With our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and with the confident hope that the New Year in your new (all electric) home will be enhanced through a careful reading of Section X. Stan Smith, Dave Burke, George Dalen.” Smith, Burke, and Dalen all worked with Reagan during his tenure a corporate ambassador for GE, and on General Electric Theater (see lot 423). In 1956, after working with GE for two years, Ronald Reagan bought a parcel of land in the Pacific Palisades section of Los Angeles to build a family home. GE, seizing on an opportunity, wired the house and filled it with the latest top of the line GE products. GE called the house the “Home of the Future,” and the Reagans starred in a series of advertisements opening the house to the public to highlight its many features. After they moved to the White House, the Reagans sold the house.
