We are grateful to Dr. Francesca Baldessari for proposing the attribution to Martinelli on the basis of photographs. Dr. Baldessari dates the picture to circa 1647 and compares it with the Madonna del Rosario e santi in the church of San Michele Arcangelo in Biforco, which is signed and dated that year.
