A DOUCAI 'BAJIXIANG' VASE, BIANHU
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The vase is decorated on one side with a pink lotus bloom surrounded by four of the Bajixiang, 'Eight Buddhist Emblems'; the other side with an iron-red lotus encircled by the other four Bajixiang. The shoulders are applied with a pair of butterfly-form handles. The base is covered with a clear glaze.
