Château Latour 1990
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
In original wooden case. Original tissues. Slightly bin-soiled labels. Levels base of neck or better
Tasting note: Severe, teeth-blackening in cask and, as anticipated, a slow starter. Yet, at ten years of age, well developed, classic cedary, good length though, of course, still tannic. A wonderful note in Dec 2003 alongside Lafite, both showing well, the Latour opaque and intense, lovely rich fruit, sweet, perfect extract, tannin and acidity. Most recently: less deep, more mature, sweeter and softer than the ’89, developing well. Last tasted July 2005 ***(*) M.B.
