Lot Essay

The present lot is an exceedingly rare example of the reference 116520 without the red 'Daytona' moniker to the dial. According to the correspondence between the owner and Rolex the dial is original and it is clearly confirmed that the watch was born this way. This absence could be explained by a lack of quality check at the manufacture, after a full day of work a minute of inattention could easily imply such impact.
Further to the correspondance between Rolex and the actual owner, this very rare Daytona 116520 is offered with a punched guarantee dated 2nd March 2005.
