According to the Archives of Montres Breguet, the present wristwatch with 12''' movement, yellow gold case, calendar, moon phase and subsidiary seconds was made in 1948 and sold on 13 September 1950 to Mme Chanteaud-Chabas for an unknown amount.

Although the first name of Madame Chanteaud-Chabas is not stated in the Archives of Breguet, it may have been Germaine Chanteaud-Chabas, daughter of the French painter Maurice Chabas, and a painter herself.

The present watch is a very fine example of one of the exceedingly rare triple calendar wristwatches made by Breguet in the late 1940s/1950s. Believed to be part of an extremely small series of possibly only around five of such calendar watches, the appeal of the present specimen is furthermore enhanced by the champagne dial, rendering it a most unique appearance.

Inspired by French avant-garde design, these ultra-rare triple calendar wristwatches by the celebrated house of Breguet are a connoisseur's choice and rarities on the market.

We are indebted to Mr. Emmanuel Breguet for his valuable assistance in researching this timepiece.
