A HONGMU DISPLAY SHELF AND A LARGE HARDWOOD CHEST
19TH AND 20TH CENTURY
The tiered shelves are raised on qilin supports, all above a cupboard carved with confronting dragons, all between similarly carved openwork upper and lower friezes. The chest is decorated to the front with a Buddhist lion amongst precious objects.
The larger, 15 ¾ in. (40 cm.) high; 35 in. (49 cm.) wide; 22 ¾ in. (57.7 cm.) deep
