A PAIR OF SILK PAINTINGS MOUNTED AS WOOD SCREENS
LATE QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The screens are mounted with two landscape paintings on silk, both inscribed with poetic verses and signed by Liu Xiling (1848-1923) with his seals. The wood frame is carved with lotus sprays.

Lot Essay

Liu Xiling was a painter active in the Zhejiang province during the late Qing dynasty, he was popular for his finger painting technique on various subjects such as landscape, bamboo, rocks, figures and flowers.
