A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE 'QILIN AND LINGZHI' CARVING
18TH CENTURY
The recumbent qilin is carved with its head turned sharply backwards, grasping a lingzhi sprig in its mouth, with its finely incised tail resting upon its haunches. The stone is of mottled celadon tone with some brownish-russet inclusions to the underside.
