A BLUE-GROUND INFORMAL ROBE AND A CREAM-GROUND JACKET
CIRCA 1900 AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The robe is embroidered with gourd and butterfly roundels enclosing the Endless Knot in Peking knot and gilt couched thread, all amongst scattered flower sprays and further butterflies above a lishui waves. The jacket is embroidered with butterflies and flowers all on a figured ground.
