A BLUE AND WHITE 'BOYS' DISH
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1620)
The dish is painted to the interior with a central roundel enclosing five boys below a pine tree, encircled by the Eight Trigrams, Bagua. The reverse is decorated with two butterflies amidst flowering prunus branches.
8 ¼ in. (21 cm.) diam.
