FIRST EDITION of the first bibliography of chemistry and of the earliest alchemical works. Borel studied at Montpellier and began a practice at Castres in 1641. In 1653 he went to Paris and within a year was appointed physician to the king. A year after he published his Bibliotheca chimica, he published the first bibliography of the telescope.
