Lot Essay

Belonging to the "ricochet" collection, reference 789 was produced over a period of two years in the early 1960s and was manufactured in yellow or white gold only, presented in different case textures. According to our research, the present lot is one of only 8 examples to have come up to auction to date. The present "ricochet" watch is furthermore in overall excellent condition with beautiful enamel roman numerals and textured gold dial.

Hand-made by Gilbert Albert for Patek Philippe, these asymmetrical watches represents the cutting edge of watch design and were as ‘shockingly’ beautiful in the 1960s as they are today.
