Lot Essay

During the 1960s, Patek Philippe spearheaded the trend for smaller and thinner calibers and consequently thinner watches. Distant from the relative thickness of the 12-600 caliber in the automatic 2526, the 1960s generation focused on thinner and further stylized looks. This Ref. 3491, retailed by Tiffany & Co., utilizes the caliber 175, named after the fact that it is only 1.75 mm thick.

This watch was recently cleaned and serviced by Patek Philippe Geneva, ready to wear for the next owner and the next chapter in this fine 50-year-old’s history.
