Reference 2481 was launched in 1950 and was one of the largest wristwatches ever made by Patek Philippe. The model was fitted either with the standard silvered dial, but was also available with the cloisonné enamel version, depicting either landscapes, continents or portraits of famous personalities. The presently offered watch has a two-tone Roman and dot configuration that has warmed to a beautiful patina highlight the originality of the Patek Philippe signature. Likewise, the case is in exceptional condition with an undeniable crispness to the lugs and slight signs of a pleasing oxidation on the bezel. Furthermore, to the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.
Different examples are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pp. 205, 207-211.
