Like many of the other vineyards in Vosne-Romanée, Richebourg originally belonged to the monastery of Citeaux. Today it is shared by a small handful of the region's best proprietors, with the largest holding belonging to the renowned Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The vines of Richebourg average 45 years in age, with many dating back to the original replanting after the World War II.
