First appearance in book form of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” On the 20th of September, the poem was printed in two Baltimore newspapers, and then was republished in a handful of newspapers along the east coast as well as a piece of sheet music by a Baltimore music store. The song's rising popularity caught the attention of Washington Irving, the editor of the Analectic Magazine, who published the lyrics in this November edition of his journal.
