Exceedingly rare advance copyright printing in wrappers, preceding the first published edition. On copyright page: “Set up and electrotyped. Published [space], 1908.” Deposited May 23, 1908. These unillustrated and plainly bound copies would have been printed in a very limited number for copyright purposes only. The first published book edition was not published until September 1909 (BAL 11912). BAL only locates only two copies: Library of Congress and Yale University Library.
