chiaroscuro woodcut printed from three blocks in black and two shades of ochre, circa 1594, on laid paper, watermark Three Crowns (Briquet 5097, dated Leiden circa 1591-1612), a very good Bailler c impression, trimmed to the borderline, just inside the borderline at right, a few skilfully repaired tears, a tiny made-up area behind the magician's back
