Lot Essay

Compare the smaller (8 cm. wide) related plaque illustrated by A. Salmony, Sino-Siberian Art in the Collection of C. T. Loo, Paris, 1933, pl. XIV (3), which has a similar configuration of two wolves with similarly elongated, open jaws, that share the same body.
