JBF (Jose B. Fernandez), Bual 1900
Bottled from demi-john in 2015 by Francisco Albuquerque. Stencilled bottles. Levels base of neck
Tasting note: Deep orange color. Fine honey cake, cacao nose, hazelnuts roasted, sweet, dried blue raisins, fine styled all alive and very well balanced. Obviously aged for a 40 year+ period in wood than transferred to demi john. This ensured a slower development and better preservation of the fruit. On the taste dried fruit aromas like on the nose, intense and fine, lovely lingering acidity emerging from the natural sweetness. In the after taste dried blue berries, great complexity, its more intense and sweeter then the Verdelho but so well integrated in the wine. Fine length. Amazingly great wine. Last tasted February 2015. EV.
