GAO YIHONG (1908-1982)
LOTS 23-31PROPERTY OF A PRIVATE COLLECTIONThis collection was assembled by a surgeon in Birmingham, Alabama who spent time in Korea as an officer in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Birmingham Asian Art Society, which formed in 1979 to support the museum’s acquisitions and educational programs. Members of this group also collected paintings under the advice of the eminent scholars and curators Sherman Lee and Lucy Lim.
