HANK WILLIAMS
A 1951, tobacco sunburst finish, acoustic Southern Jumbo Gibson guitar, owned and played by Hank Williams. The Southern Jumbo, as it was originally called, was designed expressedly as a tribute to The South, and was brought to the market by Gibson Guitars in 1942. Williams was extensively photographed with this guitar during many live performances, and composed many of his classics on the instrument as well.
This round shouldered guitar is constructed with mahogany neck, back and sides, with the rare skunk stripe down the back; spruce top with multi-laminate binding, split pearl twin-parallelogram fingerboard inlays; features almost all the original Kluson tuners with white buttons and original small frets. Accompanied by the original brown Gibson hard guitar case with original key, two black and white photographs of Hank Williams performing with the guitar, as well as the books "Country Music Culture", and "Country Music Stars The Legends and The New Breed."
