SCHALLENBERG À PARIS
The firm of Frederic Schallenberg at no. 3 rue de la Perle, Paris is recorded in the Annuaire Général du Commerce from at least 1844, and listed thereafter in a number of Parisian trade directories until the mid-19th century as a 'Fabricant de bronzes, lustres, cristaux garnis et service de table'.
These dates coincide with when the private marriage between Agustín Fernando Mũnoz y Sánchez and Donña Maria Cristina of Bourbon was publically recognised in 1844 by his stepdaughter, Queen Isabella II of Spain, with the addition of the granting of the aforementioned titles, and it is possible that these candelabra urns were acquired to mark this occasion.
