of shaped oblong form, on floral and foliate-capped lion's paw feet and with an applied gadroon, shell and foliate border and central shell handle, one of the square cut glass inkwells with contemporary gadrooned top, the other with later top with egg and dart border, the inkstand with later presentation inscription dated 1843, John & Thomas Settle, Sheffield 1826, the replacement top a different maker, Sheffield 1900 - length of inkstand 5¾in. (14.50cm.), 8oz. free.
