Three other cartels of this superb model are recorded: one signed by Bouchet is illustrated in H. Ottomeyer & P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen. Die Bronzearbeiten des Spätbarock und Klassizismus, Klinkhardt & Biermann, Munich, 1986, p. 215; one from the collection of Lord Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace was sold in the 'Chefs d'oeuvre d'une grande collection européenne' sale at Christie's, Paris, 05 November 2014, lot 52 (54,300 euros); another one signed 'Thomas' was donated to the J. P. Getty Museum by Dr Horace Wood in 2016. Interestingly, the present cartel is mentioned in a letter by Sir Francis J. B. Watson dated 16 November 1965, as being the property of Sir Robert Abdy.
