Of oval form with twin scroll handles, the box painted with scattered indianische Blumen, the cover with the 'gelbe Löwe' pattern, with crouching hare finial and brown-line rim

The configuration of the erased inventory numbers suggests that this sugar-box was almost certainly once in the collection of the Japanese Palace.
