Small 4° (192 x 132mm). Folding engraved map. (Map with mainly light marginal waterstaining, short clean tear affecting image, text spotted.) Contemporary drab wrappers, paper label on front cover, uncut (rubbed, head and tail of spine frayed).
SCARCE FIRST EDITION IN ITALIAN, one of two issues of this satirical account of the Island of Matrimony. The map depicts the Island of Matrimony, surrounded by the Peninsula of Divorce, the Island of Love, the Island of Bigamy and the Peninsula of Widows. On the island itself are the Province of Jealously and the Province of Discontent. First published in French in 1705.
