Contemporary marbled boards (textblock detached at upper joint, endpapers renewed). Provenance: 'J.C.H. Gebauer / Hamburg. 1827' (inscriptions on title versos).
FIRST EDITION on this important work ‘on the question of the rival claims to priority in the invention of the calculus, between Newton and Leibniz. It was the only serious claim published in Leibniz’s favour’ (Babson). Babson 196; Honeyman 1975.
