FIRST EDITION. Pagnini is described on the title as an emigrant from Malta living in Lucca. He outlines an improved method for constructing the compass, and in Riccardi's view resolves many of the problems associated with the use of the Galilean instrument. A Madrid edition followed in 1758. Honeyman 2392; Riccardi I(ii) 236.2.
