A BLUE AND WHITE MING-STYLE 'FLORAL' BOTTLE VASE
JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The globular body of the vase is decorated with a broad band of composite floral scrolls above a lappet band, all below a band of ruyi-heads and a further floral band to the shoulder. The neck is decorated with squared scroll band beneath a stiff leaf band. A band of foaming waves encircles the rim above a further ruyi-head band. The decoration is highlighted in stippled blue dots to mimic the 'heaping and piling' effect.
