A LINGBI MOUNTAIN-FORM SCHOLAR’S ROCK
The blackish-grey stone is formed with several peaks of varying heights dominated by a lofty peak, with dramatic crevices, sharp ridges and deeply-furrowed hollows, reminiscent of a divine mountain range. The back of the highest peak is carved with a four-character poetic inscription, Shangao shuichang, 'as high as the mountains, as vast as the seas', followed by the signature of Wu Dachen and a two-character seal, Kezhai.
