A LARGE ZITAN BRUSHPOT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Carved from one piece of wood, the cylindrical brush pot is imperceptibly waisted rising to an inward sloping rim. The fine grain of the wood is highlighted by the warm lustrous patina and its ‘golden thread’ within the tight flowing pattern of the grain. The base with a central plug.
