Details
LEOVILLE-POYFERRE
The property was acquired by the Cuvelier family in 1920 and has been run by Didier Cuvelier since 1979. The Cuvelier’s have invested heavily in the estate, replanting and replacing Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon on the finest parcels, and building a new winery in the 1990s. Of the 80 hectares, currently 60% of the vines are Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Due to the extensive replanting regime, the average age of the vines is relatively young at 20 years old. Michel Rolland has been advising Didier Cuvelier since 1994
Château Léoville-Poyferré 1990
Saint-Julien, 2ème cru classé
Levels: into neck; slightly damaged capsules, three bin soiled labels, one bin soiled and stained label
