Lot Essay

This mirror is of Argive-Corinthian type with a round disk and flat handle terminating in a round medallion depicting a sphinx. On the handle is a lady in relief with her hands raised up and the rim is embellished with beaded decoration. For a mirror of the same type, cf. A.
