De forme rectangulaire, il est orné sur une face de pivoines et magnolias émergeant des rochers sur fond turquoise à décor de motifs géométriques. Le revers reprend le même décor avec des fleurs épanouies dans des rochers.

Cloisonné enamel screens with floral motif designs dated to the 16th century are known to exist. See B. Quette, Cloisonné: Chinese Enamels from the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, New Haven, 2011, p. 249. Other double-sided panels decorated with different kinds of scenes such as landscapes or animals dated to the 18th century are found in other museum collections (idem, p. 288-289.).
