DE VOGUE

Domaine du Comte Georges de Vogüé own 12.5 hectares of vineyards including 2.7 hectares of Bonnes-Mares, 0.5 hectares of Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses and 2 hectares of Chambolle-Musigny. The domaine owns an incredible 7.12 hectares of the fabled Le Musigny vineyard which constitutes 80% of the whole site. The average age of vines in Le Musigny is over 40 years old and is labelled as Vieilles Vignes. Le Musigny comprises two sections which are divided by a path, with the northern part known as Grand Musigny and the southern part Les Petits Musignys, which is wholly-owned by de Vogüé. The Domaine has a small section (0.66 hectares) of the vineyard planted with Chardonnay which produced their extremely rare white Le Musigny Grand Cru, although currently the vines are too young and consequently the wine is sold simply as Bourgogne Blanc. Clive Coates MW stated in his book The Wines of Burgundy of Musigny “at its best the red wine can be quite simply the most delicious wine to be found in Burgundy”
