Lot Essay

Le service original a été réalisé pour le roi Frédéric Le Grand entre 1769 et 1770, pour le pavillon chinois du château de Sans-Souci. Il existe de nombreux rapports entre l'architecture de ce pavillon et le décor de ce service qui s'inspire en outre de gravures de Lancret d'après Boucher et de dessins de Jean Pillement. La plus grande partie sera détruite pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale.
