A Meissen desk-weight
the finial formed as a recumbent pug, naturalistically painted, with a blue and gilt collar, on an oval step issuing leaves, the shaped slender rectangular base painted and gilt with vignettes of the Tischchenmuster pattern, the lower section painted in iron-red and gilt with a meandering band of flowers, indistinct blue crossed swords mark, incised 1645, Pressnummer 50 -- 19cm. long, late 19th century (some minute chips and very slight wear)
