The first edition of the most ambitious aquatint book ever published on English interiors. The author—also an illustrator and watercolor painter in his own right—bankrupted himself in its publication, leading to his repeated imprisonment for debts. The 20 plates devoted to the Prince Regent's residence depict what were regarded as the most spectacular interiors in Regency London. Abbey Scenery 396.

Three volumes, quarto (403 x 316mm). 100 handcolored aquatint engravings; extra-illustrated with 1 black and white engraving (occasional light spotting and toning; extra engraving heavily browned). Contemporary calf (rebacked).
